8 weeks old!

Here's the latest cute picture du jour. It's hard to believe that Grant is 8 weeks old today! He has his 2-month appointment next week in which he will get his first shots. Say a little prayer for him! He has no idea what is coming at his appointment. More details later after his appointment on February 4th.

Fresh Veggies!

I've been going to the market a lot lately in order to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. We are both trying to start eating healthier and get in shape. Plus, there is nothing like cooking with fresh ingredients!

Here's a picture of some vegetables that I bought at the market on Wednesday. I got some zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, and cauliflower. The purple-looking thing is cauliflower. A friend of mine told me that an Italian told her that the cauliflower here in Sicily turns purple due to the nutrients in the soil from Mt. Etna. Hmmm...I wonder if those "nutrients" are lava from the mount? Ha ha! Whatever it is, it does taste good!

The little man about town

Grant and I have been staying busy by going to the local markets and getting together with other mommies with their kiddos. We are trying to get out and about on days that we are not totally exhausted. It helps us to not get cabin fever! Last Saturday we went to the base to run a few errands. This is the outfit that Grant wore. He had just woken up from a nap when this picture was taken. It almost looks like he is saying, "Mom, can I please take this outfit off now and put on my pjs??" His mom couldn't resist as this outfit is so cute and makes him look like a little man.

One Month Old!

Hi Everyone...Grant here. While my Mommy is busying catching up on some much needed rest, I am writing the blog today. She should re-name this blog, "Grant's Italian Adventure" since she has been writing about me most of the time!

This is my picture at one month old. Mom and Dad thought it would be cute to take a picture of me each month for the next 12 months with this bear to see how much I grow. As you can see, I soon grew tired of their photo session. Okay, gotta run...a bottle is waiting for me!

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope that you all are well and are looking forward to a wonderful New Year for 2008! We are just resting and getting over our colds. Grant had his first cold and I'm getting over cold #2. So we are just relaxing, watching a little tv and working on getting well. This picture was taken of Grant and I while we were watching a little day-time tv. Good times!
