We had a wonderful time when two friends from the states came to visit us in sunny Sicily. Vicki, a friend from VA, and Beck, a new friend from Seattle, both came to see us and our beautiful surroundings.

While they were here, we had a chance to see things through new eyes. We took them to some places we had been before, such as Taormina, and we went to some new places, like Siracusa. We had a blast! In addition to spending time with good friends, it was fun to show our friends all the places and customs that we have grown to love about Sicily. We love being tour guides!

So little time, so many changes...

This was the title of a post from my old blog when I was single. In the aforementioned post, I was writing about getting married to Jeff and how much my life was about to change. If I only knew then what I know now. I had no idea the amount of change that was about to transform my life.

Sometimes I am so amazed at how my life has changed in the past two years. I guess I started thinking about this as my hubby and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on September 30th. This is all that has transpired:

-Being married: I love being married. Sometimes I forget what it was like being single...(except for when I what to read a book in peace and quiet!!)

-Living overseas in Italy: I feel like Italy is rubbing off on me. I wear my sunglasses now all the time, even inside, like a true Italian.

-Being a mom: Such an adventure! Grant has made our lives so blessed...and adventurous! I can't believe he will be 1-year-old in December!

-Being a Navy wife: I can now speak in acronyms with the best of them!

As I ponder these changes, I realize that although some of them have been hard, I would not have grown and become who I am today. Even though change is hard, there are so many little surprises along the way that makes the change bearable and worthwhile: new friends I would have never met, new places, and new experiences (like being a wife and a mom!) I hope the next time my life changes (like moving again), I will embrace the change.
